AES Engineering Ltd. is the Holding Company for the AESSEAL® and AESPUMP® Groups. AESSEAL® is one of the world’s leading manufacturers of mechanical seals and AESPUMP® operates as a service partner to international companies usually where the AESSEAL® Group has an already established presence.

The annual results for AES Engineering Ltd. have just been published and they show that the business has notched up its 30th consecutive year of sales and profit growth.

The Group also reports that its AESPUMP® Division has had its South African operation chosen as a new partner by the highly respected industrial pump and compressor specialist Sundyne, headquartered in Arvada, Colorado, USA.

Meanwhile, demonstrating the international nature of business, AESSEAL® Inc, another part of the AES Engineering Ltd. Group, has just officially opened a US$5 million high specification manufacturing extension to its North American HQ, in Rockford, Tennessee. The AESPUMP® South African operation is based in Secunda, about 80 miles east of Johannesburg. Sundyne has made AESPUMP® its sole authorized representative, distributor and service provider for the whole of South Africa. AESPUMP® will be responsible for sales, maintenance, repair and technical support for the entire portfolio of Sundyne pumps and compressors throughout the country, in addition to the supply of spares. Sundyne – active in South Africa for 40 years – chose AESPUMP® after what the US company described as a comprehensive audit of its capabilities, including pump testing facilities, Level 4BEE certification, compliance with ISO 9001, 14001 and OSHAS18001 industrial standards. The AESPUMP® business also has merSETA approval for apprenticeship training.

Colin Guppy, Sundyne's general manager of worldwide sales, said: "We tried to find a company whose business and service model was in alignment with our own. AESPUMP® met that criterion." The AES Engineering Ltd. Group reports its belief that an ethical approach to business is a major contributor to its success.

In addition to its 30th consecutive year of sales and profit growth, the Company reports that last quarter earnings exceeded US$60 million, which it says has strengthened expectations that it is on track for its 31st record sales and profit growth and that it expects to achieve record sales of US$230 million in 2013. As part of the decision making process Sundyne had all of the prospective South African partners undergo a TRACE audit. TRACE is an internationally recognised membership association working with companies to raise their anti-bribery and anti-corruption compliance. AESSEAL PTY Ltd. completed a TRACE background review and has been recognized as “a member in good standing”.

The Rotherham, Yorkshire, group’s founder and managing director, Chris Rea, OBE, welcomed the new partnership and stressed the value of an ethical foundation for business: “Wherever we operate in the world we pursue excellence. Our business believes in providing exceptional customer service and we are clear that it is imperative to have extremely high ethical standards, but it is also part of excellence. “Sundyne is a significant and respected player, and we’re naturally delighted to be appointed as their distributor in South Africa. I am also extremely pleased that our South African subsidiary was awarded a TRACE certificate which should give our partners and customers the confidence that our activities fully comply with national and international ethical standards.”
