AES Engineering Ltd is one of the UK’s top 200 employers, according to a new survey published by the Financial Times.
The company has been placed 188th in rankings – 36 positions higher than last year and fourth highest in the engineering/manufacturing sector – which list 500 companies following an independent survey from a sample of around 20,000 employees.
Employers from all industry sectors employing at least 250 people were considered relevant and were asked to rate their employers across key areas including working conditions, salary, potential for development and company image.
AESSEAL scored 79.67 out of 100 with Cambridge University topping the list with a perfect 100. Others finishing in the top ten include Microsoft, Cancer Research UK, IBM, Adobe, the University of Oxford and Google, all scoring over 90.
The FT and data provider Statista compiled the second UK’s Best Employers ranking using online access panels — for which participants register and agree to take part in online surveys — and an open survey published on FT.com.
This provided a representative sample of more than 200,000 evaluations which formed the basis to identify the top performers.
The dominant industry sector was again healthcare and social, with the highest number of companies represented. It was followed by education, IT and internet, and retail and wholesale.
London comes out on top in terms of where companies chose to base their headquarters, with almost 200 featuring in this year’s ranking. Reading, Manchester, Leeds, Edinburgh and Bristol follow.
In the 2024 report AESSEAL was ranked in 224th place with 88 points.
