The Rotherham Hospice name and logo will once again be displayed on The Millers’ shirt next season thanks to AESSEAL and other ‘Diamond’ businesses.
It will be the fourth consecutive season Rotherham United has eschewed a commercial sponsor in favour of a local charity backed by local firms.
The 2026/27 season will be the second in a row in which Rotherham Hospice will benefit from the backing of the Diamond Partners, who this year are AESSEAL, AR Naylor and Sons, Hummel, Mears Group and TMG Mortgage Network.
Rotherham United commercial director Steve Coakley said:
Everyone at Rotherham United would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to the five businesses who have once again selflessly committed their backing as our 2026/27 Diamond Partners to facilitate Rotherham Hospice’s branding taking pride of place across our kits for a second consecutive season.
“The unique and innovative Diamond Partnership initiative now heads into a fourth successful year.
“This commercial arrangement is one that we are acutely aware is not standard practice in the industry and we are genuinely, eternally grateful to have a portfolio of partners who place such a keen emphasis on their charitable work to enable it to happen.”
The Broom-based charity has experienced a marked increase in funds raised during the years of the Diamond Partnership project, as well as exceptional digital engagement which has boosted support for headline events.
Rotherham Hospice chief executive Mat Cottle-Shaw said: "There is something really special about the relationship between Rotherham Hospice and Rotherham United and last season, in the club's Centenary Year, that association felt more meaningful than ever.
“It was a year that celebrated everything that makes this town remarkable, and the fact that it also welcomed in our own 30th anniversary made it all the more significant.
“To be returning to the shirt for a third time, building on the momentum of that extraordinary year, is something the whole team here is incredibly proud of. We care for people from every corner of Rotherham and that has always included Millers fans and their families."
Having our name on that shirt means that wherever the club goes, our message travels with it. It reaches people in the stands, people watching at home, people who have supported us before and people who have never thought about hospice care. That reach is invaluable.
"I am enormously grateful to Rotherham United for continuing to champion us, and to the Diamond Partners whose exceptional generosity is the foundation on which this partnership rests. Together, I believe we can ensure that Rotherham Hospice is here for this community for the next 30 years and beyond."
AESSEAL managing director Chris Rea said: “It is a pleasure to back this project again and to hear how the extra visibility has helped Rotherham Hospice, which carries out invaluable work across the region.”
